Carol, I'm so glad Emily's post made sense for you and may help you on your way to finding your niche in the fast changing market place. I wish you tons of good luck with your writing. Personally, I can't imagine ever losing the desire to tell stories that will connect with readers.

Charlotte, I found my way here via Seekerville and, when I saw Emily's topic, decided my coming here was "a God thing".

I started out writing for the secular market, but from the perspective of my Christian worldview. A conversation with James Scott Bell convinced me that, while edgy, my current w.i.p. might be a better fit for the Christian market.

In the rapidly changing publishing industry it's a challenge to find my niche, but I'm encouraged by the information provided here. Thanks so much!

Hi Valiri. Yes, I was quite stunned when I first saw the cover of Montana Family. So stunned I wrote a blog about it. I really didn't want to deceive my readers - one gal thought Daniel had been cured! (Even I couldn't accomplish that miracle.) All I can say is that I have very little input into the covers the art department, in cooperation with the editor, produce. I think it's a beautiful cover....but not exactly accurate. But I sincerely pleased you enjoy the story despite the cover. Thanks.

Marsha, I don't know anything about the Patchwork series, but I have asked my senior editor, Beth Adams, to respond to your question.

I'm currently working on a new series Secrets of Mary's Bookshop; the first books in the series should be released later this year.
